GENERAL QUESTIONS
What if my question isn't here?
You're free to contact and ask any of our staff members, you can find the list of staff on the Home Page. If asked frequently enough, it may be featured here.
What are the rules and what happens if I break one?
The rules can be found on the Home Page as well as at the top of this page. The consequences for breaking rules are listed on the block policy page which you can also find the link to at the top of this page.
If I don't play Animal Jam or if I've quit the game, will I not be allowed on the wiki?
While this is indeed a wiki dedicated to Animal Jam, it is not a punishable offense if you do not play the game or if you have stopped playing. If you wish to be here to admire art and communicate with other artists and nothing more, you are more than welcome to be a member of this wiki as long as you are compliant with our rules. If you have an artist page on the wiki and leave the game, you can still have your artist page up, but please update it properly to match the stats of your activity.
How do I become a staff member on this wiki?
Occasionally this wiki will open staff applications, and this is when you can apply. When applying, you have to look at the Staff Rights page to see if you meet all of the requirements listed for the position you want. This page also has all of the application instructions, so be sure to check that out!
CREATING A PAGE
I don't know anything about coding but want to make my own page. How?
If you've copied and pasted the page template into your new page and don't know how to edit it, you can either contact a staff member to finish it for you or suggest it on the suggestions page. If you do want to make it yourself, here is what you need to change in the page template (NOTE; This is for the Source Editor. You can also make a page using solely the Visual Editor, but Source is highly suggested):
Remove "(Newest to Oldest from Left to Right)"
Current Masterpieces (Newest to Oldest from Left to Right)
Change this to "" Make sure to get the capitals and spelling correct, it won't work if it's not exact.
Paste the link to your image after "File:" Make sure to delete the 'span stype' coding around it.
[pic here/delete this first]
Remove "|Right-click here. Add column After, if needed."
Right-click here. Add column After, if needed.
"|-" is what separates each column, "{|" and "|}" is what separates the table from the rest of the contents.
After "! scope="col"|" you can either put ' ' ' on each side to create a text. If you want to link the username, put " " which will link to the page with that name. After "|-" put in your image with "" again. The first name will list above the first image and so on. The same applies for Fan Art. If this sounds too confusing for you, we recommend you stick to the Visual editor.
How do I insert more columns?
Once you have copied and pasted the page template into your new page and have changed it, you can start adding in your art. Once the table is full of art and information, you may have more art you would like to add. If this is the case, you can either contact a staff member to add more columns for you or you can suggest it on the suggestions page. However, if you would like to add them yourself, here is what you need to do:
Editor: Click on the table you want to add a column to and a little white arrow will appear above it. Once you click that, a few options will show up such as "Insert Before" and "Insert After."
'Delete Column' will only delete the column you have selected, and will not delete the table.
'Insert After' will insert a column to the right.
'Insert Before' will insert a column to the left.
Refer to the gif below if you still need help:
Source Editor: In source editor, you just have to add another line of coding like what is shown in the gif below:
DELETED PAGES
My page/blog was deleted! Why?
If your page/blog was deleted, it could've been for the following reasons;
Page | Blog/Discussion |
---|---|
Too little art (usually 0-3) | "Badge farming" (leads to a warning) |
Too little info in the "About" section (usually less than 2 sentences) | Post is only a sentence or less long |
Inappropriate content (leads to a warning/ban) | Inappropriate content (leads to a warning/ban) |
Improper formatting (see Template Page) | - |
Can I remake my page or get it back?
Our page remaking policy is currently one week after its deletion. You are expected to make the page meet all the basic requirements if you remake it. If you constantly remake a page and continuously fail to make it sufficient, a staff may take away your permissions to remake that page. However, if your page was deleted and you want it back, you can either remake it in a week's time or ask a staff to remake it for you. If you ask the staff, please try to do so very soon after the page's deletion, as it becomes harder to restore a page that has been long-since deleted. You or a staff are allowed to recreate the page immediately if said staff allows it or if the page's deletion was a mistake on the staff's part.
